There are many benefits to owning a well—savings, higher property value, and an independent water supply, to name a few. However, one of the drawbacks of having a well is that it is underground, far out of sight from any natural eye. This makes it difficult to know when there is something wrong with your well that might necessitate well repair, especially if you are not investing in regular inspections of your well’s safety. That being said, there are a number of signs that can be looked out for to make sure you catch issues with your well as soon as possible:
- Bad smells. If the water coming out of your pump smells off in some way, this likely means that sediment or bacteria are being allowed to enter your water supply at some point in the system. This constitutes a health concern and should be fixed as soon as possible.
- Strange sounds. These can be caused by a number of things, but the bottom line is that something is likely wrong with the machinery. Getting this problem checked out sooner rather than later can save you a headache later when the problem gets worse.
- Low water pressure or no water at all. If you have no water at all, try to get well repair as soon as possible. However, even a drop in water pressure is cause for concern, as it means that you may soon be on your way to no water.
These are only a handful of the signs to look for if you think you need well repair. If you are experiencing something different with your well, it is always safest to call us to take a look at it.
